This week we are joined by a person who is a geyser of support, waterfall of joy, and hilarious improviser Erin Byrne Siskind to talk about one of the best 3D platformers of its time, Spyro the Dragon on the Sony PlayStation.
On this episode Conner and Erin discuss how as someone who didn’t regularly play games she developed her own methodical way to go about clearing levels in the game, how it captured her over a particular Christmas break from school, and talk about the eclectic career of Spyro’s first voice actor Carlos Alazraqui and the other iconic roles that he voiced. Without spoiling any of them we’ll just say, Yo quiero Spyro the Dragon.

Improviser, writer, and the computeriest hunk ever David Donnella came on the show to discuss one of the more creative and weird games of all time, Final Fantasy VIII, and the former Philly improv king himself did not disappoint.
David tells Conner how he actually got this game by mistake when he was hoping for FFVII, how he shared the journey of this game with his sister Sarah, and gives a professor quality lesson of the junction system. The two dive into that and so much more on this great hang of an episode.
We’re continuing to encourage our listeners to take action for the Black Lives Matter movement, so below are the actions and resources for the week.

LA based writer, improviser, and wonderful person Fernanda Perez joined us to talk about her experience with The Lost Vikings (1993). At the top of the episode Conner addresses the audience with a statement and some information about supporting the Black Lives Matter Movement. Conner and Fernanda discuss the importance of speaking out even if they do not represent Black voices. Fernanda was a delight and while we’re happy to escape for a brief moment to talk about video games, we understand that is a luxury and privilege to do so. Join us in supporting BLM. Below are just a few helpful resources that we recommend to help educate ourselves.

You’re gonna want to play the Song of Time and listen to this one again. The legitimate heir to the throne of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and host of the Inside Video Games Podcast July Diaz came on the show to talk about one of the greatest games of all time, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
On this episode we shout out a few local video game stores in Game Realms, World 8, and Game Dude. On this episode we are joined by actor, improvisor, podcast host, and honorary 26th man of the Chicago Cubs, Jacquis Neal as we discuss one of the greatest games on the PlayStation 2, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (2001).
Conner and Jacquis make temporary peace between the Cardinal and Cub nations to introduce the obligatory baseball talk segment of the podcast, discuss games that are intriguing enough that you’ll just sit and watch a friend play, and Jacquis appreciates how this game benefits from telling such an engaging story in an earned and grounded reality.

We’re diving into a mountain of coins for this one! That’s right, we’re doing our best Scrooge McDuck imitation as we talk Ducktales (1989) for the NES with comedic gem, Joan Ford.
This week Joan and Conner have more than a ball of fun. Joan recalls the stakes that came with choosing the lone game that she and her siblings would rent for the weekend and hoping it was a good choice, renting Ducktales at Video World enough times that her parents eventually caved and bought it, and how sometimes that finding a great property tie in game like Ducktales means wading through the turds first.
